About Jake

Jake Mills is a Liverpool born stand up comedian, writer and broadcaster. After taking part in the Liverpool Comedy Trust's 'Funny Business' course in 2008, Jake went on to win the course's competition in only his second ever gig and has since then quickly made himself known as one of the freshest new talents on the comedy scene. Described by the BBC as “the next big thing”, Jake was a finalist in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competition and has gone on to sell out solo shows since 2010. He's performed regularly at the country's biggest and best clubs including the Comedy Store, Jongleurs and Laughterhouse. He has also performed at a lot of high profile corporate events such as Lord Mayors Dinners, Everton FC Gala Dinners, Sportmans Dinners as well as hosting 'Sunday Night Live' at Her Majesty's Theatre, London to name just a few. With a degree in Journalism, Jake has a passion for writing and has become well known and respected for his work, writing for a host different magazines and newspapers including Hello! and The Guardian. On top of that, Jake has a number of projects that he is currently working on with several TV companies. Mills is a regular radio contributor. From interviews to reviewing newspapers and generally contributing opinions, Jake is somebody who can always be relied on to have something to say from local radio to BBC World. Jake has attracted the attention of many different people and companies and even starred in a documentary which was commissioned by Channel 4 where they followed Jake's personal and professional life at home and performing on stage.
