About Roisin

Winner of the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award 2010 for Best Newcomer, Roisin Conaty is a multi-talented writer and performer.

She brings her distinctive style of stand up to theatres all over the country. Roisin has just finished filming on Series 1 of Man Down (Channel 4) starring alongside it's creator Greg Davies, which is due to transmit later this year.

She is currently filming Series 2 of the popular hidden camera prank show Impractical Jokers for BBC3 following on from the success of series 1 which Roisin starred in last year. Roisin also has her own pilot in development with Channel 4 which will be filmed in the Autumn.

In 2012, Roisin was given her own pilot on BBC Radio 1 called 'Roisin Conaty's What If?', which saw her debating unlikely scenarios with some of her comedian friends. Since winning the Edinburgh Comedy Award Roisin has appeared on Have I Got News For You (BBC1), BBC Three's hit show Russell Howard's Good News, Victoria Wood's Angina Monologues for Sky One,Dave's One Night Stand for Dave channel and Show and Tell (E4). She has also appeared regularly on radio show such as The News Quiz (Radio 4), Dilemma (Radio 4) Arthur Smith's Balham Bash (Radio 4), Russell Kane's Whistle Stop Tour (Radio2) and It's Your Round (Radio 4).

Roisin is not just a talented stand up, she is also a gifted character comic, who can switch between roles seamlessly. She performs as one half of 'The Cakes' and is currently working on a number of ideas for TV and Radio.

As well as winning the coveted Edinburgh Comedy Award, Roisin has also won the Laughing Horse New Act Award and been a finalist in the Amused Moose and Funny Women Competitions. Roisin returned to the Edinburgh Festival in 2011 with her solo show, Destiny's Dickhead. and in 2012 withLifehunter, which she also performed a run of at the Soho Theatre in November 2012.
